GET READY WITH US

Everything you need to know before your Grow shoot

This experience consists of two sessions in the photographic studio
Bump to Newborn OR Newborn to Baby

This is a magical time; you are welcoming a new life into the world and there's so much to look forward to. Every day brings huge change - be it your bump getting larger, your newborn reacting to the new world around them or your baby developing their own character.

Our 'Grow' experience is designed to capture this rapid, wondrous change.

Bump

The idea of this session is to show off your beautiful bump. We photograph bumps from 28 weeks to 34 weeks when you'll have a nice round tummy.

What to Wear?

Wear simple clothing, clingy tops and leggings to show off your bump. Think about matching your underwear for aesthetics, an oversized shirt or kimono, or perhaps nothing at all!

What Props to bring?

We suggest getting creative and bringing a few options. You could bring your baby scan, first toys or baby clothes you can't wait for them to wear, such as little booties or mittens. You can help us capture some unique family portraits by bringing along any siblings, or if this is your first child, just you and Dad-to-be are fine too.

For even more inspiration, take a look at our blog for more ideas to get you going.

newborn

Tiny, wrinkled and totally reliant on you. That special newborn look is precious and is most prominent in the first 3 weeks of life. Tiny babies curl to the shape of the womb, which means they can be gently posed to create the most adorable photographs.

What to bring?

Newborn photoshoots work best simply showing off their soft baby skin, but it's nice to change things up and bring a personal touch with a prop or two. We recommend bringing a basket, blankets, wraps or headbands. Perhaps grandma has knitted or crocheted a special hat for your baby, and you want to use that in a few of the shots.

We suggest feeding your baby before you come to the studio to make sure they are fast asleep for the photography session.

baby

At about 6 months old your baby can sit up without any support, They will just start to discover the world around them. Our highly skilled professional photographers know how to get the best shot even in the wildest of shoots. Whether your little monkey loves to throw their rattle or screams at the top of their lungs, we'll capture those expressions of surprise, glee and happiness and make it a memory to last a lifetime.

What to bring?

Tell us about your personality! To make your images special and unique, everyone who comes into the studio needs to bring their personal items, outfits and accessories. We suggest bringing multiple outfits and preparing for some skin shots, as they never date! You could bring your pets, siblings or favourite toys. Think outside the box and bring home accessories such as kitchen utensils - yes you could put your little dumpling in a large cooking pan perhaps.

It's all about having fun and showing off your family's personality.

LET'S MAKE your baby smile

As parents, we want to capture those precious moments in the first few years of our child's life. During this time we snap endless pictures of our little treasures but how often do you manage to get them to smile for photos?

Our family studio team are a dynamic group of expert portrait photographers and it's their job to gently encourage a smile from the little ones on a daily basis. However, some help from mum or dad can go a long way to encourage this picture-perfect moment. Whether you play a game of ‘peekaboo’, blow raspberries, sing their favourite nursery rhyme or hold their teddy behind the camera, these are the perfect techniques to get them grinning.

Read our blog for more ways to crack a smile on your little one's face.
